Type Property (FillEffect)

Controls the type of the fill effect. The possible values are SolidColor, Gradient, Image, Pattern or AdvancedGradient.

Remarks
When you change the value of this property the control will free the texture associated with the fill effect if the type was gradient, image, pattern or advanced gradient and no other fill effects refer to the same texture. This is why it is recommended to avoid multiple changes to the fill effect Type property if you want to increase performance.
Example
The following example changes the color of the background. 
ChartControl.Background.FillEffect.Type = FillEffectType.Color
ChartControl.Background.FillEffect.Color = Color.White
ChartControl.Background.FillEffect.Type = FillEffectType.Color;
ChartControl.Background.FillEffect.Color = Color.White;
