The Group SmartItem is one of the preferred SmartItems for the SmartOfficeTaskPane SmartControl and is designed to be used as a group. 

Although the Group SmartItem is the preferred SmartItem for the SmartOfficeTaskPane, it can also be used with any other SmartControl.
