UseUnsafeCompressionMethodVersions Property (ZipReader)

Xceed.Zip Assembly > Xceed.Zip.ReaderWriter Namespace > ZipReader Class : UseUnsafeCompressionMethodVersions Property
Gets or sets a System.Boolean value that indicates whether the currently selected compression and decompression methods can use "unsafe" techniques like pointers to increase speed.
Syntax
'Declaration

Public Property UseUnsafeCompressionMethodVersions As Boolean
'Usage

Dim instance As ZipReader

Dim value As Boolean

instance.UseUnsafeCompressionMethodVersions = value

value = instance.UseUnsafeCompressionMethodVersions
public bool UseUnsafeCompressionMethodVersions {get; set;}

Property Value

true if the currently selected compression and decompression methods can use unsafe techniques like pointers to increase speed. false otherwise.

The default value is false.

Remarks

This is currently an experimental feature. Speed increases cannot be guaranteed in all cases because of inefficiencies in the internal buffering system. Future versions of the component will increase performance in that area and introduce the usage of multiple processor cores to further improve performance.

Currently, only the Deflated compression method is affected by this property. Future versions of the component will add more compression methods.

Requirements

Target Platforms: Windows 7, Windows Vista SP1 or later, Windows XP SP3, Windows Server 2008 (Server Core not supported), Windows Server 2008 R2 (Server Core supported with SP1 or later), Windows Server 2003 SP2
