ReadOnly Property (RowSelector)

Xceed.Grid.v4.3 Assembly > Xceed.Grid Namespace > RowSelector Class : ReadOnly Property
Gets or sets a boolean value indicating if the content of the grid element can be edited.
Syntax
'Declaration

<DescriptionAttribute("Indicates if the content of the grid element can be edited.")>

<CategoryAttribute("Behavior")>

<BrowsableAttribute(False)>

<DesignerSerializationVisibilityAttribute(DesignerSerializationVisibility.Hidden)>

Public Shadows Property ReadOnly As Boolean
'Usage

Dim instance As RowSelector

Dim value As Boolean

instance.ReadOnly = value

value = instance.ReadOnly
[Description("Indicates if the content of the grid element can be edited.")]

[Category("Behavior")]

[Browsable(false)]

[DesignerSerializationVisibility(DesignerSerializationVisibility.Hidden)]

public new bool ReadOnly {get; set;}

Property Value

true if the content of the grid element cannot be edited; false (default) otherwise.
Remarks

If the IsReadOnlyAmbient property returns true, then the value of the ReadOnly property is inherited from its parent.

To reset the value of the ReadOnly property to its default value, DefaultReadOnly, the ResetReadOnly method must be called.

If the ReadOnly property is set to true but the DataBoundColumn.ReadOnlyDataSource property is false, then the content of the grid element can not be edited.

Although the ReadOnly property ultimately affects only cells, it is defined in the GridElement class because of ambientness.

Requirements

Target Platforms: Windows 7, Windows Vista SP1 or later, Windows XP SP3, Windows Server 2008 (Server Core not supported), Windows Server 2008 R2 (Server Core supported with SP1 or later), Windows Server 2003 SP2
