Calling the ResetReportStyle method will set the ReportStyle property to a null reference (Nothing in Visual Basic) causing a new Xceed.Grid.Reporting.GridElementReportStyle to be created when the ReportStyle property is accessed.
The IsReportStyleDefined property should be consulted before the ReportStyle property is accessed to prevent a new instance of a Xceed.Grid.Reporting.GridElementReportStyle from being created in the case where none of the properties of the ReportStyle have been explicitly set.
