AmbientBackColor Property (DataRow)

Gets the ambient value of the datarow's BackColor property.

Property Value

A System.Drawing.Color structure representing the ambientbackground color of the DataRow.
Remarks

The ambient background color is the background color inherited from the DataRow's parent in the case where its own BackColor property is not explicitly set.

If the value of the GridElement.IsBackColorAmbient property is true then both the AmbientBackColor and BackColor properties will return the same value.

When overriding AmbientBackColor in a derived class, if the base implementation of AmbientBackColor is not returned the alternation of datarow styles will no longer function.
