AllowUncompressedData Property (ZipWriter)

Xceed.Zip Assembly > Xceed.Zip.ReaderWriter Namespace > ZipWriter Class : AllowUncompressedData Property
Gets or sets a boolean value indicating whether the ZipWriter is allowed to write true uncompressed data in the Zip archive.
Syntax
'Declaration

Public Property AllowUncompressedData As Boolean
'Usage

Dim instance As ZipWriter
Dim value As Boolean

instance.AllowUncompressedData = value

value = instance.AllowUncompressedData
public bool AllowUncompressedData {get; set;}

Property Value

true if the ZipWriter is allowed to write true uncompressed data in the Zip archive; false otherwise. By default, false.
Remarks

When ZipItemLocalHeader.CompressionMethod is set to CompressionMethod.Stored or ZipItemLocalHeader.CompressionLevel is set to CompressionLevel.None, ZipWritersilently uses the CompressionMethod.Deflated / CompressionLevel.None combination. This makes use of the Deflate data format without compressing data. That format allows unzip operations like the ZipReader class to identify when an item's data ends. This would not be possible if raw uncompressed data were written in the archive.

By setting this property to true, archives created by ZipWriter might not be able to be decompressed by the ZipReader class.
Requirements

Target Platforms: Windows 7, Windows Vista SP1 or later, Windows XP SP3, Windows Server 2008 (Server Core not supported), Windows Server 2008 R2 (Server Core supported with SP1 or later), Windows Server 2003 SP2
