Connect(String,Int32) Method

Connects the FTP client to an FTP server using the specified hostname and port.

Parameters

hostName: The hostname of the FTP server to connect to. An IP address can also be used.
port: The port of the FTP server to which to connect to. If 0 is specified for the port, 21 will be used.

Exceptions

Exception	Description
FtpInvalidStateException	Cannot perform the requested operation because the FTP client is in an invalid state.
FtpReplyException	An error reply was returned by the FTP server.
FtpIOException	An I/O error has occurred.
FtpInternalException	A fatal FTP-specific error has occurred..

Remarks

This method will only connect you to the FTP server. Once connected, you must call the Login method to log-in to the FTP server.
