PPMdCompressedStream Class
Members

Xceed.Compression.Formats Assembly > Xceed.Compression.Formats Namespace : PPMdCompressedStream Class

Represents a pass-through stream that reads and writes PPMd formatted compressed data.

Syntax
'Declaration

Public Class PPMdCompressedStream
   Inherits FormattedCompressedStream
   Implements System.IDisposable
'Usage

Dim instance As PPMdCompressedStream
public class PPMdCompressedStream : FormattedCompressedStream, System.IDisposable
Remarks
Compression is applied to data being written to the stream, and decompression is performed when data is read from the stream.

If the PPMdCompressedStream is being used to write compressed data to the inner stream, the Normal compression level will be used.

By default, closing the PPMdCompressedStream will also close the inner stream. This behavior can be modified by setting the FormattedCompressedStream.Transient property to true

To make sure that the header and footer are written, you can call Write with 0 bytes. If neither Write nor Read has been called, the PPMdCompressedStream does not know if it is reading or writing.

Compressing stream data
Decompressing stream data
