By purchasing a Blueprint subscription for Xceed Docking Windows for WinForms, you get the complete C# source code to the Xceed.DockingWindows.DLL , and also includes all the files required in order to compile and build the .NET DLLs. The source code is delivered in a separate installation kit from the main Xceed Docking Windows for WinForms package, and is provided only to registered users that have purchased a Blueprint subscription.
The source code made available through a Blueprint subscription contains valuable and proprietary trade secrets of Xceed Software Inc. and its use is strictly subject to the terms and conditions of the XCEED SOFTWARE LICENSE AGREEMENT included with the source code.
Only the source code required to build the Xceed.DockingWindows.DLL is included. This DLL (along with the Xceed.DockingWindows.Layout.DLL whose source code is not included) embody the complete runtime Docking Windows and are the only files registered users are permitted (and need) to distribute with their applications.
The source code available through a Blueprint subscription does not include the source code to the Xceed.DockingWindows.Design.DLL , which contains the classes used to implement design-time services for the Docking Windows component in environments such as Visual Studio, nor does it include the source code to the Xceed.DockingWindows.Layout.DLL.
Note: All source code comments and remarks from the original development Xceed Docking Windows for WinForms source code have been preserved in the source code provided through a Blueprint subscription to increase its value for educational purposes.
To use the source code provided through a Blueprint subscription, simply run the Xceed.DockingWindows.Blueprint.exe self-extracting zip file to unzip the source code files into the suggested folder or the folder of your choice and then load the Xceed.DockingWindows.csproj file into Visual Studio.NET 2003 and build the project.
The resulting DLL does not have a "strong name" embedded into it, and so it is not possible to register it in the .NET Global Cache. Please refer to the Microsoft .NET documentation on how to assign a strong name to an .
If you wish to distribute the Xceed.DockingWindows.DLL you have built from the Blueprint subscription source code, it is strongly recommended that you rename the to Xceed.DockingWindows.Custom.DLL in order to make it identifiable to both you and Xceed as a corrected or modified version. Remember that distribution of Blueprint source code (whether compiled or in source code form) is strictly subject to the terms and conditions of the license agreement.
Note that the designer will not function with custom-compiled assemblies.
