Column Settings

This sample application allows you to learn about and experiment with the various column settings. It specifically demonstrates how to:

• Create implicit styles that target DataCell and FilterCell
• Create DataTemplates that are used as the cell-content templates for various columns (see CellContentTemplate property)
• Make the grid read-only (see ReadOnly property)
• Add a FilterRow to the fixed header section (see FixedHeaders property)
• Add a notification control (see NotificationControl class) to the fixed footer section (see FixedFooters property)
• Manually define columns (see Columns property and Column class)
• Configure various column settings including:
  • Changing the title that is displayed in the column headers (see Title class)
  • Preventing grouping, sorting, and filtering (see AllowGroup, AllowSort, and AllowFilter properties)
  • Changing the width (see Width property)
  • Changing how the cell content is displayed by providing a new DataTemplate (see CellContentTemplate property)
  • Providing a custom group description (see DataGridGroupDescription class) that defines, though its associated group configuration (see DataGridGroupConfiguration class) how the group value is displayed in the group headers (see GroupValueTemplate property)
  • Making a column read-only (see ReadOnly property)
  • Hiding a column (see Visible property)
• Providing a specific cell style for a row (see CellStyle property)

Reordering and Resizing

This sample application how to reorder and resize columns as well as how to disable these actions through UI interaction. It specifically demonstrates how to:
